Me and 2 friends spent 4 nights here this week and we had a great stay. Julie is a very good host and was responsive to several special requests we had. The rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. The pub is well-run with younger bar staff who were friendly and capable. It was good to see it busy and attracting a cross-generational crowd who are also friendly. Happy hour from 17:00-18:00 with pints at £3.From what I saw, Brightlingsea is a lovely town and I hope to return again soon to explore it properly.
Disappointing, an offer of bed and breakfast should mean bed and breakfast, but this pub has decided not to do food!!! So, it is just bed in a tiny room with no wardrobe no hangers and not even a hook on the wall to hang your clothes. The bed is fine if you have a bad back and an aversion to soft comfort. And the final disappointment is the rooms are over the seating area of a packed pub with live music and no peace until after 2am. The room is inexpensive, but with a hard bed no breakfast and no chance of sleep until at least 2 am this B&B without a 'B' is not for the feint hearted.
A SUPER STAY IN BRIGHTLINGSEA TO SEE A FRIEND, THE STAY WAS MADE EVEN BETTER BY THE SUPER TWO NIGHTS WE HAD AT THE BREWERS MADE GOOD BY THE GREAT FRIENDLY STAFF AND SUPER SPOTLESS ROOMS. BEDS WERE COMFY AND SUPER NIGHTS SLEEP WERE HAD BY ME AND THE WIFE. WILL DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN.GEOFF & DEBBIE from LEEDS
