Usually I get the Italian salad which is sooo good. This time I decided to get a steak and cheese with mushrooms and sweet peppers. I had forgotten how big their half subs are. Somehow I still managed to eat the entire sub. Philly's has been a staple in Norfolk for decades. I love how they give the entire staff time off for the holidays.
The food is absolutely amazing. My husband won’t get a Philly anywhere else. BUT the customer service is HORRIBLE. I called several times to place my order ahead of time, only to get a continued busy signal. Which is great, yay they’re busy! I didn’t expect anything less because they have awesome food. BUT when I finally got through I realized why there is a constant busy signal. Someone answered the phone to only immediately put it down, no “hello”, no “can you please hold”, just literally sat the phone down. After two minutes of holding, because I can hear someone speaking in the background (and again my husbands love of the food) someone answers only to ask me “how can I help you” with a clear attitude or anger towards me for calling. no “sorry” or “thanks for holding”. Then as I say I’d like to place a pick up order and given no response, I’m asked “are you gonna order”. The food is awesome, but not worth the disrespect. Your customer service shouldn’t be lowered because your busy. I will definitely not be ordering from here again.
Staff was friendly and cery helpful. Nothing was homemade. The chicken came from a can, the burger was a regular beef patty from Sam's club. Considering the prices, I was expecting a homemade ground beef burger, or homemade pulled chicken..the brownie WAS homemade, however it was 2.58 for a square.. the egg roll was $3+ and it was made from canned chicken..I think they have a good concept just poor execution.
