Used this chippie for the past 3 years, but haven't visited for a couple of months. Purchased the usual order of a large cod and chips (wife and I usually share it)....such disappointment! The price increase from £7.20 to £9.80 was a bit of a shock, but the servings now come in a polystyrene tray resulting in drastically reduced portion sizes too. The fish was far smaller than previously with a meagre serving of chips that wouldn't even constitute a standard size. If I hadn't already driven home, I'd have returned and requested my money back. Sorry Cookie's, you've had my business for the past 3 years, but I won't be back.
Very friendly staff food is very nice .always buy our fresh kebabs and chips etc from there .Will definitely recommend.
We called in on Saturday afternoon for a dine in meal during a very busy day as it was the Christmas light switch on. We were told that they were quite busy but could serve us in boxes instead of plates but would only charge takeaway prices. We had to wait a while because they were so busy but it was worth the wait as extra staff turned up and the meals came on plates. All 4 of us agreed it was one of the best fish and chips we have had for a long time, and the service was first class. We will be back, that is for sure.
