The mixed reviews didn't seem justified, our service was great, the meal hot and tasty. He had the sausage special, traditional fish and chips for me. Good experience!
If you are in Stranraer and are looking for somewhere to eat, I can recommend The Starfish, big menu and really big portions. plus the prices are good. Had haddock (whale) and chips and tea and bread and butter for £8. Nearly had mince and tatties, think I saw curries too. Opposite Tesco.
Brilliant cafe and chip shop in Stranraer for sit in or takeout. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I tried the Custom House pub in the town, but they had stopped serving food when I called at 8pm on friday. I was directed to the Starfish cafe and would definitely call again. Handy if you want a good meal before you get the boat to Belfast and there's plenty of seating. I sat in and got a lovely fish supper and coffee for £7. They also do good dinners with mash potatoes, or lasagne or spaghetti.
